The 16MW Taft Hydroelectric Power Plant is located in the Tubig River within the Samar Island Natural Park (SINP). It began construction in February 2020. Officially beginning operations in October 2022, the plant will be generating an estimated 71 GWh annually, providing power to the surrounding communities in Eastern Samar. It has generated local employment, reducing illegal logging and coal-making, as well as promoting bamboo reforestation.

Set to begin commissioning in March 2024, the plant will generate an estimated 43 GWh annually, providing power to the communities in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya. It will irrigate hectares of rice fields in the area.
